Zonal and Fixed pricing
It may be necessary to set fixed rates for marketing and continuity purposes. Cab9 uses the pat/long of any location to establish a driven mileage from A-B. Whilst this is often an ideal scenario you may wish to establish areas, such as postcode LE15 where you have fixed rates from and to Airports.
We can apply fixed prices to either
- The Client
- The Price Group
Fixed prices for a client will only apply to that client. And not to anyone else in the price group. Or you may have global fixed prices that you apply to all clients on a price group. In which case fixed prices can be applied to a price group.
Fixed prices can be applied from/to
- Postcodes
- Zones
Postcodes may be the ‘outer’, such as BA1 (Central Bath). Or down to street level such as SW1A 1DD (Double Tree Hilton, London, Victoria) or to less discrete areas such as WC1A (Holborn Area)
Zones may be anywhere you define as a zone within the system. Whether that be an Airport such as LHR, or an area such as a radius of 5 miles around the Bull Ring in Birmingham.
Zones & Postcodes may be mixed and matched. So you can apply a price from SW1A 1DD – LHR or SW1A 1AA – W1A 1AA. (When entering exact postcodes, always use capital letters and a space between the outer and the inner parts of the postcode)
When entering prices for zones, take care to select the zone from the drop-down menu, rather than type the zone name in directly.
Fixed pricing may also be ‘applied both ways’. So that return or reciprocal journeys will price identically.
Prices are set at vehicle level and ‘Fixed Fare’.
The ‘Fixed fare’ being the Cab9 version or “oh dear, this job does not match any vehicle I have, here is my fall back price!”
Fixed Pricing may also be imported or exported via a .csv file. If you have a complex pricing model with many fixed prices and are moving from a legacy system, contact support and we will in the first instance, walk you through the import process.
